PNB Life Shimmers in Shanghai

SHANGHAI, CHINA-PNB Life Insurance, Inc. (PNBL) held its very first overseas Annual Convention last July 18-20, 2008 at The ETON Hotel in Pudong, Shanghai, China. This much- anticipated event consists of top sales producers from the bancassurance and agency channels. Gracing the event were executives of Allied Banking Corporation: President & CEO Atty. Reynaldo Maclang, EVP of Retail Banking Group Mr. Peter Yap as well as PNB Life's very own President & CEO Mr. Regnar Rivera, CFO & Chief Actuary Peter Darvin. Chief Marketing Officer Kenn Ramirez ensured a convention worth remembering.

Day of Celebration

Highlight of the first day was the Awards night held at the magnificent Maple Room of Eton Hotel., adorned in gold and red - with table centerpieces of tall vases filled with gold and red flowers, actually contained small live fishes - like aquariums. Delegates and guests Top producers of the year heartily enjoyed an international buffet with vast choices from salads, to the main course, and to the desserts. Mr. Fredy Dela Cruz' hosting made sure that guests were perked up the whole evening.

Mr. Rivera in his welcome address thanked the delegates for making the annual convention possible, while Atty. Maclang reiterated the bank's continued support to the objectives of PNB Life. Mr. Ramirez exhorted everyone to work together to move the company forward and be at par with the industry's best.

Delegates gleefully joined the singing of Leo Valdez' classic Magsimula Ka - symbolic of the company's new beginnings and the challenge to come together and attain company goals. The awardees, all in their shimmering get-up, were all smiling as they listened to music provided by the Jazz Band of Eton Hotel. Not to be forgotten are the "locomotion girls" who surprised the delegates with the raffle prizes.

Day of Delight and Colors

Second day highlights include a city tour that began with a visit to a Chinese Silk Factory. Delegates proceeded to the Yu Yuan market and test their bargaining powers and get the best deals on items like Beijing Olympics commemorative items and later to the high-end shopping area Nanjing Pedestrian Street. Watching the Acrobatic Show in the evening brought oohss and ahhhs to the audience. They entered the Sightseeing Tunnel with a lightshow before heading back to the hotel.

Day of Excitement and Learning

Trips to the famous Pearl of the Oriental TV Tower and Shanghai Ocean Aquarium provided the delegation offered infotainment on the Chinese role to media technology and ecological protection.

Relationships Fortified

The Shanghai Convention evoked feelings of pride and confidence to the changes of PNB Life. Every click of the camera, every meal enjoyed, every smile and laughter shared - were all proof of renewed energy to move together to attain company goals.
